Job Duties:
- Conducts initial assessment of student’s employment services needs
- Assists students in activities of career exploration, including labor market surveys, geographical surveys, informational interviewing, job shadowing, etc.
- Support training in the use of access technology; understanding self-advocacy, readiness for work in terms of teaching job seeking skills, work exploration, trial employment, placement, and retention services into competitive employment
- Support training in orientation to the environment and instruction in independent travel and mobility such as use of public transportation, map reading, cane training, rideshare.
- Creates individualized employment services plans of study for clients based on skills, goals, and capabilities
- Leads group instructional sessions in emotional intelligence, business communications, business etiquette/grooming, networking, resume building, and interviewing
- Provides individual employment services to students specific to their vocational goal
- Assists student with job placement and job retention via onsite support, job coaching, and worksite evaluations
- Aids in positive philosophy of blindness
- Attends disability and employment related meetings/groups/conventions
- Complete monthly reporting of student progress
- Builds and maintain positive relationships with community employers
Competencies
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, or blindness-related field, OR
- at least two (2) years’ experience providing job placement, coaching, training, or education opportunities for individuals with disabilities (preferably visually impaired/blind) or
- Graduate level coursework towards rehabilitation counseling or career development field
- Agency training in Structure Discovery instruction
- Must be willing to complete blindness immersion training.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $48,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Phoenix, AZ 85014: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
